For credit unions, giving back is more than writing a check. It is an opportunity to support the people, organizations, and causes making a difference in the communities they serve. But turning that commitment into a consistent charitable giving strategy can take time and resources.
That is where the Credit Union Impact Foundation’s donor advised fund program can help.
Created specifically for credit unions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia, the program provides an easier way to organize and strengthen charitable giving without adding significant administrative work for credit union staff.
Credit unions establish their own dedicated, named charitable account through The Foundation and continue to determine their charitable priorities and recommend where grant dollars are directed. The Foundation takes care of the work behind the scenes, including investment oversight, nonprofit and charity vetting, grant processing, compliance, and reporting.
The result is a giving program that remains uniquely yours. Credit unions maintain their name and local recognition while gaining the infrastructure and expertise of The Foundation to help make their giving more intentional and consistent.
The Foundation also provides quarterly updates and an annual year-end impact summary, making it easier to show boards, leadership, members, and other stakeholders how charitable dollars are making a difference.
A charitable account can be established with an initial contribution of $10,000. The program includes a $150 one-time setup fee, a quarterly fee of 0.75% of the account balance, and a $25 fee per grant.
