EMERGE Brings Together Emerging Leaders for Growth and Connection

Credit union professionals from across the region came together in Birmingham, Alabama, April 14–16, for EMERGE, The League’s annual event focused on developing the next generation of industry leaders.

Designed for emerging professionals, EMERGE delivered a mix of practical learning, meaningful conversations, and opportunities to connect with peers navigating similar career paths. Attendees explored leadership development, personal growth, and the evolving role of credit unions through a series of engaging sessions and interactive experiences.

The event opened with “League 101 – Who We Are and How We Work for You,” offering a closer look at how Your League supports credit unions and their teams. From there, the energy carried through a full agenda that encouraged attendees to step outside their comfort zones, share ideas, and think differently about their impact within their organizations.

A highlight of the event was the Certified Credit Union Counselor (CCUC) graduation, recognizing professionals who completed the program and their commitment to strengthening financial well-being for the members they serve. During the ceremony, attendees also took a moment to honor the legacy of Kelsie Davis, Senior Compliance Consultant and Regulatory Analyst, through the Kelsie Davis Memorial Leadership Journey Scholarship, created in her memory. Her sister, Amanda, was in attendance, making the recognition especially meaningful.

Attendees also participated in a poverty simulation led by the Credit Union Impact Foundation, offering a hands-on experience that challenged participants to navigate real-life financial barriers. The session provided a powerful perspective on the realities many individuals and families face and reinforced the importance of the work credit unions do every day.

Throughout the week, attendees had the opportunity to hear from industry leaders, participate in discussions, and build connections that extend beyond the event itself. Whether through structured sessions or informal conversations, EMERGE created space for new ideas, fresh perspectives, and lasting relationships.

EMERGE continues to grow as a space for emerging professionals to build confidence, strengthen their voice, and take the next step in their careers.
