Congressman Darren Soto is Working to Preserve Jobs and Protect Credit Unions

This week, members of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU) Advocacy team are on Capitol Hill lobbying for credit union friendly legislation.

Meeting with key lawmakers to discuss the proposed IRS reporting requirement, LSCU reiterated the significant impact that this dangerous proposal would have on credit unions and banks. The extreme regulatory burden could potentially put many financial institutions out of business.

Congressman Darren Soto (FL-09) spoke exclusively with the LSCU Advocacy team on his efforts to protect financial institutions across the State of Florida and to preserve jobs. From his time in the Florida Legislature to his service in the United States House of Representatives, Congressman Soto has remained a supporter of credit unions.

LSCU appreciates the leadership and friendship of Congressman Soto.

As a reminder, credit union members are encouraged to contact lawmakers and urge them to oppose this IRS reporting provision.
