Your LSCU Advocacy Team is on Capitol Hill This Week

This week, members of the LSCU Advocacy team are on Capitol Hill lobbying for credit union friendly legislation.

Specifically, the team is working to block a provision that would require financial institutions to report to the IRS the inflows and outflows of funds on accounts holding more than $600. As members of Congress continue to debate the reconciliation bill, LSCU will be reminding members how burdensome regulations such as these would significantly impact credit unions, especially those in rural or low-income areas.

Be sure to follow LSCU on Facebook and Twitter to stay up-to-date on meetings and events with key lawmakers.

As a reminder, credit union members are encouraged to contact lawmakers and urge them to oppose this IRS reporting provision.
