Florida legislative session begins today. The Senate will convene at 9:30 a.m. ET while the House will go into session at 10 a.m. ET  At 11 a.m. ET, Gov.  Scott will deliver the “State of the State” address during the Joint Session in the House Chamber. Ahead of the chambers convening, members are required to submit all bills to be considered during session.

The start of session also affects campaign fundraising — according to both House and Senate rules, members cannot accept contributions during any regular or special session.

Sen. Travis Hutson (R) and Rep. Jamie Grant (R) have filed LSCU’s priority legislation that would allow credit unions to accept public deposits. The advocacy team will work with the sponsors to move these bills through the legislative process. Updates will be provided throughout the 60 days of session.
