Office of Small Credit Unions Expands Resources and Trainings

The League’s Office of Small Credit Unions continues to grow its support for credit unions under $150 million in assets, with a variety of new resources, trainings, and grant-eligible services now available. In addition to the full suite of support , we’ve added several new tools designed to help small credit unions build capacity and expand impact.

What’s new:

  • Additional Trainings: Online training options have grown from 12 to 16, offering free access to a broader range of topics like cybersecurity, supervisory responsibilities, identity theft prevention, and more.
  • Progress Fund Grant support:
    • Your Credit Union Partner (YCUP) – Offers strategic planning and growth consulting, helping credit unions focus on member outcomes, revenue, and long-term direction.
    • CU De Novo Collective – Supports the formation of new credit unions, especially those serving underserved and minority communities, by providing mentorship, resources, and financial support.

These additions build on the robust support already available through The League, including:

  • Access to a dedicated consultant with in-person visits each year
  • Participation in the Small Credit Union Community – if you’re not already part of the Community sign up here.
  • Free compliance assistance with a guaranteed 24-hour response time
  • A direct line to employment attorneys through the HR Hotline
  • Annual member satisfaction survey tools
  • And grant support through the Small Credit Union Progress Fund, including $1,500 per eligible credit union to apply toward LeagueLEVERAGE, or America’s Credit Unions education, services, and events
