EMERGE Conference: Key Takeaways for Emerging Credit Union Leaders

Last week’s EMERGE Conference brought together rising credit union professionals for an inspiring event centered on career development, leadership, and community impact. Attendees left with valuable insights, new connections, and tools needed to advance their careers and grow within the credit union movement.

Darryl Stinson, Co-Founder of Seeding Greatness, kicked off the event with a powerful session on Sustainable High Performance, offering a self-C.A.R.E. strategy that helps individuals perform at their best even in high-stress situations. Darryll emphasized the importance of mental and emotional well-being, teaching attendees how to elevate awareness, optimize energy, and build stronger relationships with themselves and others.

Holly Hoffman, motivational speaker, author, and the last woman standing on Survivor Nicaragua, inspired many through her session, “L.E.A.D. Simply – The Survivor Way.” Hoffman shared a simple yet effective leadership framework: MODEL, CONNECT, INVOLVE. Participants learned how to model the behavior they want to see in others, connect with their teams, and involve them to create stronger, more effective leadership.

A memorable highlight was the team-building activity facilitated by The Leaders Institute. Attendees participated in the Rescue Bear® Teddy Bear Team Building Activity, working together to build teddy bears for children in need. This fun, collaborative session fostered teamwork and communication while supporting a charitable cause. The Rescue Bear® program blends skill development with corporate social responsibility, strengthening team trust and leadership while providing comfort to children facing difficult circumstances.

The event wrapped up with a Lunch and Learn featuring the EMERGE LEADership Panel, where industry leaders shared valuable insights on how to navigate the changing landscape of credit union leadership.

The 2025 EMERGE Conference provided an incredible opportunity for young professionals to build new strategies, strengthen their networks, and prepare for leadership roles in the credit union movement.
