New Sustainability Grant Supports Small Credit Unions Facing Unexpected Challenges

The Credit Union Impact Foundation has launched the Small Credit Union Sustainability Grant Program, providing one-time financial assistance to affiliated small credit unions experiencing unexpected, time-sensitive operational challenges that could negatively impact their ability to serve members.

Grant funding may support needs such as emergency technology or network repairs, critical equipment replacement, urgent facility repairs, unexpected compliance-related expenses, temporary technical or professional assistance, and vendor failures requiring immediate replacement or transition.

The program is available to affiliated credit unions in good standing with The League with total assets under $250 million.

The Sustainability Grant is an invitation-only funding opportunity. Credit unions with a specific operational need should first contact Susan Lee, Director of the Office of Small Credit Unions, to discuss their situation and determine whether the request may be eligible for consideration.

Applications are reviewed quarterly, with the first application deadline on Tuesday, September 15.
