Katie BaileyThe Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) is one of the most meaningful ways the Credit Union Impact Foundation supports credit unions and the members they serve. By helping credit union staff become Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors, the Foundation strengthens each credit union’s ability to guide members through budgeting, savings, debt management, and long-term financial planning.
This work aligns with the spirit of Giving Tuesday by equipping credit unions with tools that directly improve financial well-being in their communities. Certified counselors provide trusted, one-on-one support that can change the trajectory of a member’s financial life.
In 2025, 54 credit union professionals across our region completed FiCEP, expanding the reach of financial counseling services throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia.
Through Foundation support, the Enhanced FiCEP program remains accessible, affordable, and rooted in the credit union mission of people helping people.
