Credit Union Leaders Gather for Southeast Regional Directors’ and Supervisory Committee Conference

Credit union directors, supervisory committee members, and industry experts from across the Southeast convened at The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa for the annual Southeast Regional Directors’ and Supervisory Committee Conference, hosted by The League of Credit Unions and held August 3 – 6. The multi-day event brought together 350 leaders to explore trends in governance, leadership, and credit union strategy.

Sponsored by TruStage and DDJ Myers, the conference featured an inspiring lineup of keynote speakers, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities designed to empower and educate credit union leadership teams.

“We were thrilled to welcome so many dedicated professionals who are passionate about serving their members and strengthening the credit union movement,” said Samantha A.M. Beeler, President of The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates. “This conference is a testament to the collaborative spirit and forward-thinking leadership that define our industry. Our Directors and Supervisory Committee members left with actionable insights, fresh perspectives, and renewed energy to guide their credit unions with integrity and purpose.”

Keynote speakers included Shari Storm, CEO of Category 6 Consulting; Bryan Rutberg, founder of 3C Communications; Jeff Rendel, President of Rising Above Enterprises; John Lanza, creator of The Art of Allowance Project; and industry veteran Frank Diekmann, co-founder of CUToday.info. Together, they offered inspiration, expertise, and fresh perspectives to support the ongoing growth and impact of credit union leadership.

In addition to keynotes and workshops, attendees participated in breakout sessions tailored to both Supervisory Committee members and Directors, covering vital topics like governance, oversight, and innovation. Optional activities, including a Savannah Riverboat Cruise, trolley tours, and a golf outing, allowed for informal networking in a relaxed setting.
