BSA Virtual Workshop scheduled in May for tri-state CUs

As credit union professionals practice social distancing, they can still meet training requirements without ever leaving their offices or their homes. The LSCU education department is planning a Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Virtual Workshop on May 20 for credit unions in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

The workshop is designed to provide those in credit unions that handle the day to day aspects of BSA with up-to-date information important to their jobs while fulfilling the training requirement under the regulation. Topics to be covered during this interactive workshop include Servicing Marijuana Businesses, Use of BSA Data by Law Enforcement, SAR Writing Tips and more.

“As we go through these difficult times virtual learning is becoming the norm,” said Laura Gober, LSCU vice president of compliance and regulatory services. “The technology we use here at the LSCU allows us to continue offering interactive training to our credit unions. The BSA virtual workshop is no exception. I know our credit unions will appreciate and see the value in this new way of learning.”

A dynamic speaker lineup includes LSCU compliance team members, Kristen Osborne – Assistant United States Attorney/Northern District of Alabama, Ezra Heath- Special Agent IRS-Criminal Investigation/North Alabama Suspicious Activity Report Review Team, Rue Moorman – Principal Examiner/National Credit Union Administration/Southern Region, and Edward S. Reisinger – Partner at Kudulis, Reisinger and Price.singer and Price.
