Lizeth GeorgeWinSouth Credit Union in Gadsden, Alabama, celebrated Best Day Ever last Friday by donating more than $4,500 to families to help with their grocery bills.
WinSouth Credit Union made a significant impact on Northeast and Central Alabama families through their Best Day Ever event, where employees visited local grocery and convenience stores throughout the community and surprised several individuals by assisting with their grocery bills. WinSouth visited various grocery stores in Fort Payne, Rainsville, Albertville, Oneonta, Gadsden, Attalla, Pell City, Moody, and Leeds.
The Best Day Ever Event was in partnership with KASASA and Charlie Rocket, with a goal to spread kindness to local communities by creating over 100,000 acts of kindness in one day.
“Today was such a heartwarming experience to see the smiles on people’s faces when we told them we were going to help cover the cost of their groceries,” said Tara Leeth, WinSouth Credit Union’s Marketing Director. “Many of them were surprised and grateful for the unexpected act of kindness. Some even shared their stories with us, telling us how they’ve been struggling to make ends meet and how our gesture made a huge difference for them.”
But it wasn’t just the recipients who were touched by this event. The WinSouth Credit Union team also felt a sense of joy and fulfillment in being able to get out and give back to the community.
