Katie BaileyTropical Financial Credit Union has been named the Best Credit Union in Fort Lauderdale for 2026 by BusinessRate, a national ranking service that evaluates businesses based on Google reviews.
Tropical Financial Credit Union’s Fort Lauderdale branch, at 5900 N. Federal Highway, earned the highest Benchmark Score among the city’s credit unions, 241 out of 300, finishing 10 points ahead of the next-ranked institution. The branch currently holds a 4.5-star average across 193 Google reviews.
BusinessRate’s Benchmark Score combines three measures of review performance: long-term ratings dating back to 2015, recent review activity and the depth of customer feedback. The Fort Lauderdale branch scored 19 out of 20 for review quality, tying for the highest mark among the city’s top-ranked credit unions.
Reviewers consistently cite the branch’s staff and customer service, with one writing that the team “went above and beyond.”

Tropical Financial is a not-for-profit financial institution owned by its members that offers an array of loan and deposit products and services throughout 12 Florida counties. The credit union has branches in Doral, Fort Lauderdale, Hialeah, Kendall, Miramar, Plantation, and West Palm Beach.
