Alabama Compliance and Regulatory Roundtable Hosts Quarterly Meeting

Nearly 30 members of the Alabama Compliance and Regulatory Roundtable met in Tuscaloosa at Alabama Credit Union for its second-quarter meeting.

The meeting began with a remembrance of Kelsie Davis, Senior Compliance Consultant and Regulatory Analyst at The League, who recently passed away. The League Tuscaloosa Chapter presented a resolution in memorial, and members of the roundtable shared memories of their colleague and friend. Kelsie led the Roundtable for over a year, building it into a firmly established group with robust attendance, tremendous contributions to regulatory reform, and lasting connections.

In the meeting, several issues were discussed, including the recent changes at the National Credit union Association (NCUA) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Additionally, roundtable members shared their approaches to enterprise risk management, handling non-resident alien accounts, and dealing with reputational risks. The meeting wrapped up with an open exchange of ideas and discussion on a variety of topics, including tips for navigating a payments exam.

If you, or anyone at your credit union, is interested in joining the Alabama Compliance and Regulatory Roundtable, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Mat Willey for scheduling.
