Scott Simpson Named Next CEO of America’s Credit Unions

We’re excited to share that America’s Credit Unions has appointed Scott Simpson as its next President and CEO, effective November 3, 2025.

Scott currently serves as President and CEO of the California Credit Union League and Nevada’s Credit Unions, as well as CEO of Utah’s Credit Unions. He is nationally recognized for his bold advocacy, coalition building, and innovative multi-state partnership model that has strengthened league collaboration while preserving each state’s unique voice.

With more than two decades of leadership experience, Scott has chaired the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC), led the National Advocacy Fund, and taught at Western CUNA Management School. He will be based in Washington, D.C., and opportunities will be scheduled for members to connect with him after his start date.

The appointment follows a robust search process with input from leagues, credit unions of all sizes, employees, and industry partners. Scott succeeds Jim Nussle, whose decade of leadership included unifying the industry and establishing America’s Credit Unions as a strong national voice.

“Scott is a proven leader and passionate advocate with more than two decades of League experience and a deep understanding of the credit union movement,” said Samantha A.M. Beeler, President of The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates. “He brings a rare combination of strategic vision and collaborative leadership that reflects both where credit unions have been—and where we’re headed.”
