Auburn University Credit Union has announced that longtime President and Chief Executive Officer Henry Armstrong will retire on January 31, 2026, after 36 years of leadership. The credit union’s Board of Directors has selected Dave Bradford, currently Vice President of Recovery Solutions at All In Credit Union in Daleville, Alabama, to succeed Armstrong.
“Serving Auburn University Credit Union has been the honor of my lifetime,” said Armstrong. “When I reflect on the past 36 years, I see the dedication of our employees and the trust of our members who allowed us to grow with them. Together, we built a credit union that makes a real difference in people’s lives, and I know Dave’s leadership will ensure Auburn University Credit Union continues to thrive for generations to come.”
During his tenure, Armstrong guided Auburn University Credit Union through a period of remarkable growth and change. From expanding branch locations and introducing new services to leading a successful charter conversion, his leadership transformed the credit union from a small, campus-based institution into a thriving financial cooperative serving thousands of members across East Central Alabama.
Armstrong also serves on The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates Board of Directors having first been elected in 2017 and serving as Chairman from 2022 to 2023. He has contributed his expertise to numerous board committees and was honored as The League’s Alabama Professional of the Year in 2019.
“Henry’s 36 years of service at Auburn University Credit Union represent a career defined by dedication and vision,” said Samantha A.M. Beeler, President of The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates. “He not only grew the credit union’s reach and impact, but also kept its focus firmly on improving the financial lives of members. His legacy will continue to shape Auburn University Credit Union for decades to come, and we are confident Dave Bradford will build on the strong foundation he leaves behind.”
Bradford brings more than 15 years of credit union leadership experience and holds a Master of Business Administration from East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Campbell University. He will work alongside Armstrong through a transition period before assuming full responsibilities in 2026.
