The League of Credit Unions is dedicated to promoting, protecting, and preserving the “People Helping People” movement. Expanding the influence of credit unions and amplifying the voice of this service-driven movement is crucial to success.
From championing legislation that allows credit unions to serve as public depositories to combating harmful state-level interchange bills and defending credit unions’ tax-exempt status against federal threats, The League remains steadfast in securing success—now and in the future. Advocacy is strongest when all credit unions stand together, and every voice makes a difference.
How You Can Get Involved
This year, The League has several exciting opportunities to strengthen the credit union movement. Here’s how credit unions can advocate:
- Stay Connected– Let The League know the best person at your credit union to stay informed about advocacy efforts by filling out this form for grassroots advocacy updates.
- Update Project Zip Code (PZC)– PZC is a secure, user-friendly tool that maps members by congressional and legislative districts, helping strengthen grassroots impact when engaging lawmakers. Ensure your credit union’s information is accurate and up to date.
- Advocacy Education & Events– Advocacy Specialists, Josie Ellis and Ibby Dickson, are available to provide advocacy training at your next staff meeting, training session, or retreat.
For questions about PAC giving, upcoming events, or advocacy education, please reach out to Josie Ellis at Josie.Ellis@the-league.coop or Ibby Dickson at Ibby.Dickson@the-league.coop.
