CUNA Young Professional’s Advocacy Training

Young professionals are the future of the credit union movement and the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and Affiliates along with CUNA understands how important it is to make sure our young professionals understand advocacy early in their careers.  To that end, CUNA is hosting a virtual advocacy training specially designed for young professionals from August 4-6, 2021.

The three day program will consist of three hours of instructions on Wednesday and Thursday and 45 mins on the final day, Friday. The program will educate attendees on the benefits of advocacy; how to build strong relationships with their Members of Congress; best ways to use data and social media to tell their story; provide a review of CUNA’s political programs; and best practices for in-person or virtual district meetings with their state and federal lawmakers.  There will also be a League component to the training.

The program includes guest speakers, a Congressional staff panel, and updates from CUNA and League personnel.  The dates were selected so attendees could prepare for upcoming Hike the Hills this fall.
