About 180 credit union leaders from Alabama and Florida arrived in the nation’s capital yesterday to attend CUNA GAC 2018 and prepare to tell the credit union story on Capitol Hill. Part of the opening activities included a welcome reception hosted by the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and sponsored by CUNA Mutual Group, Corporate One, and LEVERAGE.

Jared Ross, senior vice president association services and governmental affairs, addressed the attendees and thanked them for taking the time out of busy schedules to speak out as credit union champions.  Today’s activities begin with an incredible line up of speakers and break out sessions centered around strengthening the credit union message, reducing regulatory burden, and protecting members.

“It just never gets old, telling the credit union story here in Washington, D.C., or anywhere else. It is one of the most authentic and genuine movements of all time and we are proud to talk about it at any level,” remarked Kayce Bell, CDO, Alabama Credit Union.
