Credit Union Leaders Gather for Tallahassee Chapter Event

The League was proud to support the Tallahassee Chapter’s Fall Networking Dinner and thrilled to see such robust engagement across the board. More than 65 people attended from a variety of credit unions, including Champions Credit Union, Gulf Winds Credit Union, First Florida Credit Union, Loyalty Credit Union, First Commerce Credit Union, TMH Federal Credit Union, Calhoun Liberty Employees Credit Union, and Addition Financial Credit Union.

The event featured remarks from Stephen Huddleston, Chief Legislative Aide to Florida Senator Corey Simon, who conveyed Senator Simon’s strong support for credit unions and his deep commitment to increasing investment in Florida’s rural communities. Since taking office in 2022, Senator Simon has been a steadfast advocate for credit unions and recognizes the impact the movement has had across his district. Stephen also shared his family’s personal connection to Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) and expressed gratitude for credit unions’ long-standing support of CMN.

Christopher Hodge, Senior Director of Government Affairs, provided an overview of upcoming legislative priorities, previewed upcoming events, and encouraged credit unions to get engaged in advocacy by joining us for the Florida Advocacy Summit this February.
