Congressional Spotlight: Representative Kathy Castor (FL-14)

The League continues its Congressional Spotlight series, highlighting lawmakers who support credit union priorities and the communities they serve.

Teh League is proud to recognize Representative Kathy Castor (FL-14), who represents the Tampa Bay area and has long supported policies that strengthen communities and expand financial opportunities.

Since joining the Energy and Commerce Committee in 2009, the Congresswoman has focused on economic issues, including job growth and affordability. Passionate about serving families and small businesses, Representative Castor has also been a strong supporter of CDFI credit unions and their continuous funding, as well as a vocal advocate and cosponsor for the Credit Union Board Modernization Act. In recognition of her leadership on these and other important issues, The League honored the Congresswoman as its 2022 Lawmaker of the Year. The Congresswoman faces a tough election ahead as Florida redraws its Congressional maps heading into the August primary.

The League appreciates Representative Castor’s continued support of key credit union priorities and looks forward to future opportunities to partner on initiatives that benefit credit unions and the communities they serve.
