In this issue, we’re proud to recognize Representative Dale Strong (AL-05). Prior to being elected to Congress in 2022, Congressman Strong served his community as a firefighter and as Chairman of the Madison County Commission. Today, he represents Alabama’s Fifth Congressional District, which encompasses much of North Alabama.
Since arriving in Washington, Congressman Strong has become a strong supporter of the CDFI Fund, signed the “No New Tax Pledge,” and previously sponsored the “Credit Union Board Modernization Act.” In recognition of his leadership and support of the credit union movement, he received The League’s 2024 Lawmaker of the Year Award.
Representative Strong’s business-minded and community-focused approach continues to make him a strong partner on credit union priorities. The League appreciates his support of policies that expand financial access for Alabamians and strengthen credit unions’ ability to serve their local communities.
