Congressional Spotlight: Representative Barry Moore (AL-01)

In this edition of the Insider, The League recognizes Representative Barry Moore for his commitment to supporting Alabama communities, small businesses, and the community-focused financial institutions that serve them. Earlier this summer, Moore secured the Republican nomination for Alabama’s open U.S. Senate seat, marking the next chapter in his public service.

Born and raised on a family farm in Coffee County, Alabama, Moore is a veteran, entrepreneur, and former member of the Alabama House of Representatives. After serving six years in the Alabama National Guard and Reserves and earning a degree in Agricultural Science from Auburn University, he returned to Enterprise to found Hopper-Moore Inc., an industrial waste hauling company. During his eight years in the Alabama Legislature, Moore served as Chairman of the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee and Vice Chair of the Small Business and Commerce Committee.

Since being elected to Congress, Moore has continued to advocate for policies that strengthen local communities, promote economic growth, and support small businesses. As he campaigns for Alabama’s open U.S. Senate seat, The League appreciates his partnership and support of community-focused financial institutions and looks forward to continuing to work together on issues that benefit Alabama’s credit unions and the members they serve.
