A dozen local teachers have been awarded a total of $5,847.92 in teacher grants from Blue Eagle Credit Union, located in Roanoke, VA. Annually, on average, teachers contribute $500 out of their own pockets for classroom supplies. Each Fall, local teachers can apply for up to $500 to assist with classroom projects that positively impact students. The number of grants and the dollars awarded differ each year, but the impact is always much appreciated by local educators. This fully staff funded Blue Eagle Credit Union program has awarded 117 teachers a total of $53,916 since inception in 2016, benefitting more than 20,000 students.
