Two Virginia-based credit unions received top honors from the U.S. Navy at the 2025 Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) Annual Meeting, with both recipients recognized as Credit Union of the Year in their respective asset-size categories.
Navy Federal Credit Union, the world’s largest credit union and headquartered in Vienna, Virginia, was selected as the Navy’s Credit Union of the Year among institutions with more than $1 billion in total assets. Topside Federal Credit Union, based in Dahlgren, Virginia, received the award in the category for credit unions with less than $1 billion in total assets.
Bruce Six, President and CEO of Topside Federal Credit Union, accepted the award in person during the annual conference, held this week in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Each year, the Navy selects two institutions that have demonstrated outstanding service to their members and strong support of the military community. The recognition highlights the critical role credit unions play in improving the financial lives of service members, veterans, and their families.
The League congratulates both Navy Federal Credit Union and Topside Federal Credit Union on this well-deserved recognition and their continued leadership within the credit union movement.
