Advocacy Leaders Grace Newcombe Colvin and CeJae Vtipilson Begin New Chapters

The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates is both proud and bittersweet as we announce the transition of two extraordinary members of our Advocacy Team—Grace Newcombe Colvin and CeJae Vtipilson—as they each step into exciting new chapters in their professional journeys.

Grace Newcombe Colvin Joins Ballard Partners

Grace Newcombe Colvin, who has served as Vice President of Federal Advocacy and Strategy, will be taking on a new role as Senior Associate at Ballard Partners, one of the most respected federal lobbying firms in Washington, D.C. Ballard Partners has been a key partner in The League’s federal advocacy work, and Grace’s move is a testament to her reputation and rising influence in the public policy space. We are excited to continue working with her in this new capacity.

In her time with The League, Grace has been a powerful advocate for credit unions across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Virginia. She has played a pivotal role in strengthening our federal presence and has built deep connections with congressional leaders and national stakeholders.

“Grace has always been a bright and shining star, and this new role is a launching pad for her many talents,” said Samantha A.M. Beeler, President of The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates. “We’re proud to see her take this next step and thrilled that she’ll continue working with us through our federal contract team. This is not goodbye—it’s a well-earned celebration of what’s next.”

Grace will remain connected to our federal contract team through her new role, ensuring continuity and impact in our advocacy efforts in Washington D.C. Grace’s last day with The League will be Friday, July 25.

CeJae Vtipilson Joins Peoples Advantage Federal Credit Union

After nearly a decade of dedicated service to Virginia’s credit unions, CeJae Vtipilson, Vice President of Governmental Affairs, will transition to Peoples Advantage Federal Credit Union as Director of Market Expansion and Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Initiatives. In this role, CeJae will be leading strategic efforts to grow the credit union’s presence, foster community partnerships, and secure vital financial resources to advance its mission as a CDFI.

Since joining the Virginia Credit Union League in 2016, CeJae has been a steadfast advocate, shaping state-level legislative priorities and elevating the voice of credit unions in Richmond and beyond. His expertise, integrity, and tireless dedication have been invaluable to the movement. CeJae’s last day with The League will be Friday, July 18.

“CeJae’s passion has had a profound and lasting impact on Virginia’s credit unions,” shared Beeler. “His knowledge, relationships, and heart for this movement have helped shape our advocacy strategy and earned him the respect of credit union leaders and lawmakers alike. We are grateful for his years of service and excited to see the difference he’ll make in his new role.”

Please join us in congratulating both Grace and CeJae on their exciting new endeavors. Their contributions have helped shape our advocacy program into what it is today, and we are proud to celebrate their continued leadership within the credit union movement.
