Katie BaileyThanks to credit union advocacy, nearly 25,000 messages have been sent to Congress on the importance of preserving the credit union tax status from our footprint. However, there are still several key congressional districts in need of additional touch points.
If you haven’t already encouraged your employees and boards to respond to our action alert, now is the time to do so—it takes just 30 seconds. Collectively, our four states’ credit unions support more than 200,000 jobs. We still have a long way to go and many more employee voices to highlight to continue reiterating the importance of our tax structure.
Together, we’ve had great success in getting several members of our delegation to speak with leadership on our behalf to protect credit unions. However, we cannot take our foot off the gas and must continue this momentum on the Hill.
Next week, Ways & Means members will gather to draft the largest portion of the tax cuts, and it is imperative that members hear from us. Again, every voice matters, so please take this time to act now and encourage your team members to do the same.
