Georgia General Assembly Nears End of 2025 Legislative Session

With Crossover Day (Legislative Day 28) in the rearview, the Georgia General Assembly is marching towards adjourning Sine Die on Friday, April 4. Georgia credit unions have achieved several significant legislative victories this session including:

  • Defeating SB 57, an anti-debanking proposal that would have restricted financial freedom.
  • Passing HB 15, a key charter update to modernize credit union operations.
  • Blocking HB 431, harmful interchange legislation that would have increased costs for members.

This session has been a great display of the power of credit union advocacy in shaping favorable policies. If you have any questions, please reach out to Sydney Seral at Sydney.Seral@the-league.coop.
