Florida Office of Financial Regulation Names New Director of the Division of Financial Institutions and Credit Union Bureau Chief

Two long-time Florida regulators with deep credit union ties have taken on new roles.

Ben Brinkley was recently appointed Director of the Division of Financial Institutions which is responsible for overseeing the activities of all financial institutions. Brinkley started with the Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) in 2005 and has held nearly every position in the Bureau. Brinkley has been a trusted partner to credit unions throughout the Sunshine State and The League is ecstatic to see him appointed as Director.

Nick Beckwith was recently appointed Credit Union Bureau Chief and has a decade of experience working with credit unions. He has led numerous examinations and assisted with purchases, mergers, and conservatorships. Since 2022, Beckwith served as the Area Financial Manager and is highly regarded by credit unions of every size in every corner of the state.

The League congratulates both Ben and Nick on their promotions and we are eager to work with them both in their new capacities.
