Governor Kay Ivey Announces New Appointments to the Alabama Credit Union Administration Board

On Friday, November 12, 2021, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey re-appointed Derrick Ragland, President and CEO of APCO Employees Credit Union, to serve on the Alabama Credit Union Administration (ACUA) board.

Ragland joined APCO Employees Credit Union more than 39 years ago, starting out in the loan department. In January 2011, he was appointed vice president and chief operating officer and in December 2015 he was appointed President and CEO.

In a series of appointments announced by Governor Ivey, it was also announced that Redstone Federal Credit Union President and CEO, Joe Newberry would serve on the Space Science Exhibit Commission.

Newberry had previously worked at Redstone Federal Credit Union for 13 years as the executive vice president of communications and lending before leaving to become the CEO of Achieva Credit Union in Largo, Florida. In 2008, Newberry returned to Huntsville to become the President and CEO of Redstone Federal Credit Union.

Both appointments took effect immediately.
