LSCU Wants to Tell Your Story: People Helping People Request

During the height of the pandemic, it was so far from “business as usual” it was surreal. Today, we have more hope this pandemic does have a manageable end. Now, LSCU wants to honor all of you for everything you did to help keep your members and staff safe while making sure your members had access to their accounts and therefore, peace of mind.

During the last year, the LSCU Team has heard of many stories related to credit unions and the fight to keep moving forward despite COVID-19. Now we want to officially gather those details for posterity. We are asking for the stories that go beyond closing lobbies, putting up signage, sending staff home and the extra sanitation efforts. While all of this was necessary and important, we know there’s more.

Do you know of any extraordinary efforts taken by a credit union or an individual during the pandemic? Did one of your tellers help a member by withdrawing money (with the member’s consent) and then drive the funds to the member, masked up for contactless drop-off? Did your staff help another credit union keep services running because too many fell ill? Did your credit union focus on a special COVID-19 fundraising effort for children, first responders, or medical professionals? Did your credit union make an extra effort to help the local economy or small businesses? We want to hear from you about your credit union and others.

LSCU is able to work with most material from written statements, videos, images, and more.  We can make graphics and animations with the Growth By Design team. We want to see and share your videos and images, your interviews – be it a selfie interview, a Zoom snapshot – we’ll make it work. Send us whatever you have.

During the Southeast Credit Union Conference & Expo, LSCU will share your stories because while we may want to erase 2020 from our minds, there was a lot of good that happened. And that should be remembered.

Please use this link to share your story by April 8th.
