The Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta and Alabama Housing Finance Authority are seeking structured partnerships for a new Community Heroes grant funding initiative. The program seeks to keep first responders and educators in local communities by helping them purchase a home.

Community Heroes is open to law enforcement officers, firefighters, first responders, and public school educators. The program is not limited to first-time homebuyers and has flexible income limits. For every loan, FHLBAtlanta and AHFA will provide $2,000 each. They are seeking one to two other partners (lenders, nonprofits, employers, etc.) to match these funds and provide $2,000 each or $4,000 total. Funds can be used for down payment or closing costs.

View this flyer for additional details. If you’d like more information or would like to join FHLBAtlanta and AHFA in offering this program to community heroes in your area, please contact Carrie Hamaker at AHFA at chamaker@ahfa.com.
