Forty-one credit union professionals recently completed their third year of instruction at CUNA Business Lending Certification School to achieve their Credit Union Business Lending Professional (CUBLP) designation.

Three Florida credit unions had employees who completed the program, including: Patricia Retz, Community Credit Union of Florida, Rockledge, FL; Joe Markley, First Florida Credit Union, Jacksonville, FL; and Grant Abbott, Florida State University Credit Union, Tallahassee, FL.

“Commercial loans are one of the most in-demand services offered by credit unions, so a strong commercial lending program is quickly becoming a necessity for a credit union to be successful,” said Kathy Smith, instructional design manager at CUNA. “These dedicated professionals have showed their expertise in this growing field, and will return to their credit unions with the knowhow necessary to create a successful program.”

CUNA Business Lending Certification School teaches attendees business lending essentials, strategies for building a commercial lending program or enhancing an existing one, and more.

The next CUNA Business Lending Certification School takes place July 22-25, 2019. Credit union professionals interested in the program can visit cuna.org/blcs to learn more.
